Adoption Academy Support for Members of Adoption UK

Adoption UK commissioned us to provide 2 live training courses: Building Resilience to Stress Less for Adopters and Building Resilience to Stress Less for Waiting Adopters.  Following the success of the 2 days, we were requested to deliver a programme of 6 x One hour webinars for 10 adopters.

After initial consultants with regards their requirements a programme of training was drawn up and delivered. A workbook was also provided to delegates.

Subjects covered include:

  • Understanding their and their childrens’ stress
  • Improving their self care and ability to relax
  • Managing their reactions and reducing the triggers
  • Reducing their stress and developing resilience
  • Gaining an insight into what lies behind a childs’ behaviour and how to manage that behaviour
  • Developing a greater rapport and connection with their child and improve relationships within the family
  • Helping to regulate their child emotionally and staying emotionally regulated themselves
  • Handling Worry
  • Relaxation and visualisation

Lorraine Hirst who commissioned both training courses, commented:

“I have had the pleasure of meeting Gill Tree and engaging her to work with Adoption UK on a number of training pieces to date. She is highly professional in her approach, very knowledgeable and personable. The feedback from the workshops on resilience that Gill ran for us was excellent and it is clear that as an adopter she has a great deal of credibility with adopters and potential adopters. With a keen eye for doing things well, Gill will always strive to meet clients needs and deliver excellence whenever possible.”
